Lead Software Developer

I'm looking for a lead JavaScript developer who's a hands on coder with the ability to mentor and inspire a talented but raw group of junior - mid level developers. Someone that has an innate appreciation of the development process is and importantly how it can be improved.

The business is renowned for being at the forefront of tech and disruption within their industry, they have a track record of testing new products and making data driven decisions about their long term suitability for projects.

About You

You'll be a full stack JavaScript developer who can lead and mentor a small team of talented junior - mid level developers. Ideally you'll have some experience of bringing through more junior developers and being seen as the 'go to' expert within small software development teams. You will be someone who takes in pride in what you deliver with sound engineering principles and have a natural degree of curiosity in everything you do - in and out of work!

Projects

Within this newly formed tech squad there are a number of totally new projects to work on (little or no legacy code!) including AI and ML apps, transitioning into cloud (AWS) data transformation and website builds / launches.

Tech

  • Wide ranging full stack JavaScript experience, specifically with NodeJS (ideally building microservices)
  • Senior or Lead Development experience
  • Mentoring Junior Developers
  • JavaScript frameworks including ReactJS and ExpressJS
  • Experience designing and/or interacting with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Knowledge of AWS, Lambda (with Serverless), SQS, DynamoDB & ECS

The Role

  • Being the lead developer in a small, dedicated team
  • Help to build on solid agile principles
  • Experience in both the design and development of applications, servers and API's
  • Work closely and communicate with other areas of the business, particularly product and marketing teams
