Better Placed reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy and the latest version available will be on the Better Placed website and this is the one that will apply. We take your privacy seriously and encourage candidates and clients to review this page regularly.

This Privacy Policy refers to information held by Better Placed and does not refer to information held by an employer, a potential employer, an umbrella company or any other person or organisation involved with any particular process, whereby the passing of information is necessary and always agreed by the individual. To find out more on this you would be advised to go directly to the relevant organisation and refer to their Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we process your personal data, this could be as you are a candidate who we are currently in the process of helping find a new job or we already have a working relationship with you based on previous contact. Alternatively you could be a client who we provide recruitment services for.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and process any data we receive and how in doing so we comply with our legal obligations to you. We take privacy very seriously and your legal rights are important to us, we are committed to protecting and safeguarding your data and only using it based on your consent and within the obligations of the GDPR.

What is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). In 2018, new data protection rules will impose greater obligations on organisations whilst giving more rights to individuals in relation to how their personal data is processed. The rules are set out in the GDPR – this is a piece of European legislation which came into effect on 25th May 2018.

Personal Data – What is it?

Personal Data is data that can identify you as a living individual. There is general personal data such as name, address, Ni No and online identifiers/location data. There is also sensitive personal data which includes information on physical and metal health, sexual orientation, race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, trade union membership and criminal records. Sensitive personal data must be protected to a higher level.

What data do we collect and how we may process your data:

Candidate Data: In order to provide you with the best possible service in finding you your next role that is tailored to you, we need to process certain information about you. We only ask for information that genuinely helps us to help you, such as you name, age, contact information, education and employment history. Sometimes, and where appropriate and in accordance with local laws and requirements, we may also collect information related to your health, diversity information or details of criminal convictions.

In addition to the above, if you are currently or have previously been a candidate that Better Placed have worked with to help find a new role we may also have information that falls into one of the following areas :

A copy of your CV – Bank Details – Salary information – Benefits included in your employment package, current and past. – Right to work information which could include a copy of your passport, visa details. – Reference details. – Umbrella company information including, day rates, timesheets, tax information, etc. – Various communications noted by Consultants during the recruitment process.

Client Information :In order to provide you with the best possible service in finding you specific candidates for a role you have engaged with Better Placed for we are likely to ask for information (or be given this) in the form of Name, Email address, Job title, company information, roles and team structures, salary details. Better Placed may collect this information by telephone, e mail, social media and this may have been through contact from a particular company or through contact Better Placed has made when engaging with a business as a prospective client.

How do Better Placed acquire your personal data as a candidate?

You may have applied directly to our business through our website or sent us an updated CV to us based on our historical working relationship. We may have also found your details on a 3rdparty job board, or another social network such as LinkedIn or it could be you have applied to an advertisement through one of those channels too.
