Jonathan Moran

  • Position: Board Director - Tech

With close to 10 years’ experience in tech recruitment , I specialise in helping businesses hire senior technology leaders, from CTOs, CIOs, and technical executives to founding engineers and applied technology specialists. I work across our core sectors including marketing, digital, CPG, and finance, placing leaders who can shape strategy, influence culture, and deliver measurable impact.

I founded the UK AI Meetup, now a thriving community of nearly 1,000 technology professionals, and have partnered with organisations including Turing Innovation Catalyst, Bank of New York, and Innovate UK. This gives me deep insight into the UK technology ecosystem and a strong network of talent across machine learning, natural language processing, and advanced analytics.

I take a long-term, relationship-led approach. Many of the candidates I place are people I have supported through multiple stages of their careers. I focus on understanding what motivates them and the environments in which they thrive. For clients, I offer a consultative and pragmatic approach, working closely with leadership teams to understand business dynamics, challenge thinking where necessary, and deliver senior hires who make a lasting difference.

As Director of Better Placed Tech, I help organisations of all sizes, from established brands to high-growth companies, navigate the complexities of hiring senior technology talent. Whether you are recruiting a CTO, building a post-Series A team, or hiring a senior technical specialist, my focus is on clarity, speed, and making the hiring process straightforward and effective.
