Lead full stack JavaScript Engineer

£70,000 -£85,000

1 -2 days per week in Manchester

Based in central Manchester and fuelled by a passion of how technology can make the world a better place my client are seeking a seasoned lead full stack JavaScript Engineer who takes pride in producing simple, clean and maintainable code. You'll be leading a small but expanding in house development team using a modern tech stack in a truly agile environment.

 

Core Skills

  • JavaScript / TypeScript

  • Node

  • React

  • Unit testing and employs a test driven approach to all aspects of your work

  • Developing REST and or GraphQl API’s

  • Experience with serverless technologies (ideally AWS / Terraform / Lambda etc.)

  • Developing continuous integration / delivery pipelines

 

Other

Lead engineering delivery for the team, ensuring the successful and timely delivery of projects.

Provide line management to a small team of engineers (3-4), mentoring, coaching, and ensuring their professional development and growth.

Collaborate closely with the Principal Engineer to align team execution with overall technology strategy.

 

Whilst are a number of greenfield projects in the roadmap but in the first instance it's important that you're also passionate about improving existing code quality and unit testing, ideally in your current role you typically wouldn't write code without tests.

 

Interview Process

Stage 1

Meet senior members of the team

Stage 2

Q&A about the team and business and culture, followed by technical ability and system design questions.

Ideally one of these stages would be face to face with the other being done remotely and can be wrapped up within a week.
