Graphic Designer

Birmingham (x2/3 days a week)

£25k - £30k

My client has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer who really wants to make their mark in a fast growing business.

They are founded on the importance of wellbeing and creating beauty from within. They sell direct to consumers through their website and have a highly engaged customer community.

The Graphic Designer sits within the brand communications team and reports to the Senior Creative.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver creative designs for print and digital, turning written or spoken ideas and briefs into impactful experiences for the community and beyond.

Your expertise will boost the design capability of the Creative Department and help to shape how creative is used in the business.

What you'll be doing

Working with the creative team and the wider marketing team, you'll build out campaign identities and mood-boards. You will be coming at a time when brand strategy is forming which offers a great opportunity for design.

You'll be designing and implementing digital design including website graphics, email creative blog content illustrations, stills for paid and organic ads, organic social templates and more

You'll be supporting the Senior Creative in designing packaging by developing concepts, graphics, typography, illustration and layout. You'll need to keep up with the latest trends!

Working with external suppliers to deliver printed materials. You'll be creating visual aspects of print, from ideation to design and ensuring its delivered on time to the required quality including doing touch ups if necessary.

What we are looking for:

You'll probably have worked in an agency or for a large brand, ideally within the beauty or fashion industry.

It goes without saying you'll have great technical skills and you will have had experience working with Adobe creative cloud

You'll be great at solving problems and approach work with a sleeves-rolled-up attitude. When there's work to be done, you'll pitch up to do it.

You'll be able to see things from a different viewpoint and when its necessary challenge the status quo.

Purpose of Role

To deliver creative designs for print and digital, turning written or spoken ideas and briefs in to impactful experiences for our brand and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Create visual aspects of print, from ideation to design and implementation.

    1. Liaising with external printers ensure budgets/timelines/quality is met
    2. Interpreting briefs to produce finalised print communications
    3. Developing concepts, graphics, typography, illustration and layout for print
    4. Keeping up to date with ongoing design trends
    5. Ensure print quality inline with brand guidelines
    6. Photography touch-ups and edits as required

      Design and implement digital design; including (but not exhaustive); website graphics, email creative, blog content illustrations, stills for paid and organic ads, organic social posts.
    1. Developing concepts, graphics, typography, illustration and layout for digital formats
    2. Keeping up to date with ongoing design trends
    3. Photography touch-ups and edits as required

      Design and support Senior Creative with packaging design; including NPD and product updates

    3. Photography touch-ups and edits as required

      Working with the creative team and the wider brand team, build out campaign identities and moodboards.
    1. Maintain and update brand assets and visual guidelines
    2. Interpreting briefs to create and help shape campaign identities
    3. Undertaking research on industry trends and design trends
    4. Liasing with other members of team to understand requirements for specific channels and content
