Senior Innovation Manager


To lead the development of a consumer centric Innovation pipeline across a category worth £395m. Leading key projects to deliver the business Innovation targets.

This category is the fastest growing area of the UK Grocery Business, and an exciting time to be part of this Category team. The Category compromises several much-loved UK brands. Innovation has been at the heart of our growth within the category- delivering new and exciting products and formats to the UK consumer in the last two years. With in home consumption on the rise and innovation fuelling category growth this is an exciting role.

What you'll be doing:

  • To work with brand marketing, Insights and wider Business unit team to develop category innovation strategy and from this the innovation platforms for growth
  • To develop insights which drive concept platforms which create the opportunity areas for future initiatives.
  • To develop a funnel of consumer validated initiatives
  • To develop and implement a 3-year Innovation vision and pipeline
  • To work closely with the Packaging Technology, NPD and procurement teams to understand leading technologies available globally within the category arena
  • To deliver successful initiatives, which hit gate 3 expectations and deliver against key business KPIs.
  • Act as project lead on Innovation projects working with cross functional teams both internally and externally. Define the research requirements for both product and packaging
  • Work closely with agencies to deliver initiatives to market.
  • To act as our 'eyes on the ground' globally- making the broader team aware of new brands, products and launches that can inspire future thinking.

What we need from you:

  • FMCG marketing experience- ideally with specific experience within Innovation.
  • Commercial orientation.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit. Desire to continuous look for new ideas and ways of working as well as embedding them into a team.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively
  • Experience of innovation methodologies and how they can apply
  • Results oriented - able to work collaboratively with teams and delivers personal accountabilities along with team goals, balancing commercial priorities with personal capability and direction.
