PHP Developer

Manchester (remote 3-9 months then moving 1 day every 2 weeks hybrid)

£45,000 - £55,000

After experiencing significant demand for their product and an investment round, my client have chosen Manchester for its UK Tech Hub. As they are currently looking for suitable premises in the city this role will be fully remote for 3-9 months. Once they have a suitable office they will operate a relaxed hybrid model, typically 1 day every fortnight in Manchester.

As a PHP Developer you'll be joining their Portal Team. working on a variety of backend security projects within a large multi-team system. They are a leader in their field when it comes to online security and work with the largest streaming services in the world to keep their property secure. This, and the growth they're about to go through, make it a great time to join.

Day to Day

· Take ownership of features and deliver high-quality results.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve bugs.

· Propose improvements to enhance system performance.

· Collaborate with other engineering teams to achieve company-wide goals and find common solutions.

· Develop significant portions of their systems within a new microservices architecture.

Requirements:

· Experience in back end PHP development. (ideally 2 years+)

· Knowledge of CSS, HTML,

· MVC Framework experience, Laravel

· Good experience with MySQL, Docker

· Ability to write clear, concise, and meaningful unit tests

· Linux/Unix experience

Desirable Skills:

· Experience in web streaming protocols or media technology and video codecs

· Proficiency in IDE Code Editors like VSCode.

· Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including ECS and EC2.

· Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD.
