Better Placed is pleased to be working with a well-known Law firm who are very much known for its retail clients. They are looking for someone to join the Marketing function as a Part-time Events Manager. This person has to come from a B2B background and has to of done Corporate events.

Location: Leeds

Hours: Flexible/Part-time (up to 22.5 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

* Working with our Partners and fee earners to strategically develop internal and external

events to achieve business objectives

* Event planning and organising, and where required overseeing the running

* Preparation of event plans and timelines

* Working with Partners/fee earners to create relevant and targeted mailing lists

* Venue research and selection, building a bank of recommended venues

* Management of supplier relationships to ensure value and quality

* Preparation of relevant presentation and marketing materials

* Communication and publicity of events in liaison with our Digital Content & Social Media

Manager

* Management of event budget

* Following up after events to assess success and return on investment

* Management of events through Microsoft Dynamics, creating mailing lists, recording

responses, and negotiating and managing budgets

* Using databases and other tools to provide strategic reports to the Partnership on the success

of events and recommendations for the future.

Personal Skills: The successful candidate will be IT literate and have a strong working knowledge of

Microsoft Office software and CRM databases. Experience of events management is essential,

preferably within a professional organisation. They will be a proactive, enthusiastic and creative

team player who has the confidence to work with partners and staff at all levels, as well as external

suppliers and consultants, in a professional manner. They will have strong administrative and

organisational skills coupled with a sound understanding of marketing principles. They should have

the ability to manage projects and their own workload, use their own initiative and common sense

and work to tight deadlines. They will need to be flexible with a willingness to occasionally work

outside normal hours when attendance at events is required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3- 5 years experience in an events management role, preferably B2B
  • Managing budgets and expenditure
