As a marketing automation or a CRM expert, you'll know the value of a personalised and automated customer journey. This is very important when it comes to companies with a a strong brand presence and this is a role to shape the automation strategy in a well-loved UK name.

To give some context to this role and why your expertise is needed, there is a significant digital transformation project ongoing with the objective to make the business more digitally-enabled. This is with a view of optimising the customer journey and bringing more visibility to customer behaviour. CRM, digital and wider marketing are key areas for enhancement and this is a new role at the early stages of this journey.

Some of the main things you'll be doing include taking a lead on the implementation of a new marketing automation platform (Marketo) and supporting the ongoing CRM and digital strategy.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, you'll lead on integrating the automation platform and optimising the customer contact strategy across a range of platforms including email, in-app, web and others. You'll use A/B or multi-variate testing to analyse successes/things to work on and feed this data into the wider marketing team to make continuous improvements to the customer experience.

You'll have support from Data teams who will do a lot of the heavy lifting with segmentation, profiling etc. Your role will be a bit more creative but based on the data, delivering communications throughout the customer journey, thinking about optimising engagement and personalisation at every touchpoint.

The must-haves for this role are:

  • Proficient in marketing automation. Knowledge of Marketo would be fantastic but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of campaign management, segmentation strategies and customer journeys.
  • Experience of experimentation and measurement, such as A/B testing and using analytics for key metrics.

Based in the Chester area, there will be some degree of flexibility but it will be a predominantly office-based role.
