This 'tech for good' start-up business is seeking a Lead Developer who is looking to take responsibility for a fascinating product and help grow an innovative team. You will initially be the sole developer (supported by a remote team), responsible for scaling the team as the business grows.

The company puts a real focus on improving mental health and combatting loneliness in young people. This role will suit a self-starter who is looking to lead a development team that will build/ maintain a function to aid in improving the lives of thousands of young people nationwide.

The business has grown rapidly since 2019 and is now looking for a Lead Developer to come in and grow the tech offering out in line with incoming investment. They are currently receiving a huge amount of national press coverage as the start-up begins to scale into something unique.


Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and/or managing a small development team
  • Writing clean, well-documented code
  • Help to build on solid agile principles


Core tech:

  • C# / ASP.NET (.NET Core)
  • JavaScript / ECMAScript
  • MySQL
  • DynamoDB
  • Some AWS (Amazon Web Services) Experience


Desirable / beneficial:

  • GraphQL
  • React Native
  • Exposure to Agile / Lean software development practices
  • Unit, Integration and UI Testing experience
  • Architectural Awareness - Systems architecture and distributed systems

The business has an office based in Manchester and the team like to get together a couple of times a month for socials and workshops, however you can work from the office as much or little as you like outside of this.
