Better Placed are working with a leading insight agency to identify a Junior Category Manager to join their team and to work along side a number of FMCG clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer insight and or category, coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports.

You will work closely with the client, to deliver high quality insights and data solutions. Acting as the first point of contact, you will be able to build strong relationships, whilst providing leading insight to accelerate growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with the client
  • Assess data and facts and deliver this information in comprehensive, supported arguments for potential action
  • Collate and analyse relevant market and consumer information
  • Help various teams (brand, trading, insight & data) to understand and use data and insights more effectively
  • A passion for creating compelling storied form data sets to drive growth and performance
  • You will also be responsible for co-creation and project management of the insight platform and development roadmap, for the UK and Ireland partnership

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience within retail, FMCG or agency, using actionable insight to drive performance
  • Active listening to client issues and strong at identifying opportunities
  • Eager and hunger to learn more
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good at presenting data in a simple manner
  • Experience in interpreting and translating data, including loyalty and customer data
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis
  • Strong experience of working in customer insight within retail
