Data Engineer - Manchester- £70k

I am seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join a dynamic team working on innovative products in the medical space. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and managing the data infrastructure to enable actionable insights and drive business growth. If you have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of data systems and analytics, and a passion for problem-solving, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

· Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data integration processes

· Developing and optimizing logical and physical data models to ensure data availability, integrity, and performance

· Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement data requirements, ensuring data pipelines align with business objectives

· Implementing and maintaining ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, and cleaning

· Ensuring data quality and integrity through automated testing, monitoring, and validation techniques

· Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipeline/processes performance issues and debugging code as necessary

· Documenting data systems and processes to support knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

· Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role in a retail or e-commerce environment

· Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python

· Extensive knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases

· Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive

· Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

· Understanding of data warehousing concepts and frameworks like Snowflake or Redshift

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
