Data Engineer - 12 month FTC

I'm working with a global publishing company who are looking to add a Database Engineer to their Data Team - supporting, designing, and delivering data and database solutions. They operate one of the largest academic publishing platforms in the UK and are constantly looking for ways to innovate and develop.
The role will primarily involve working with the data team to help build a new data platform in Azure and subsequently migrate existing data marts from the SQL server warehouse onto the new cloud platform. This role is a 12 month FTC with the potential to be made perm.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Database design, development and delivery for systems and integrations between systems
- Dimensional modelling and data mart design
- Developing data pipelines in Azure to extract, transform and load data into the new data platform
- Redevelopment and refactoring of existing SSIS ETLs in Azure
Skills and Experience:
- Experience building scalable, performant, data pipelines in an Azure environment
- Microsoft Azure and Data Fundamentals
- Administering Relational Databases on Azure
- Knowledge of any of the following Azure Synapse, Source Control, XQuery, Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- Advanced knowledge and experience of SQL programming
- Dart mart development experience
- Experience of SQL Server (desirable in: PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL/Big data i.e. Hadoop)
- Any ETL technology experience
- Programming / Scripting in python (desirable in C#, Powershell)
