Better Placed are pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading pub retailer and brewer who are looking for a Commercial Executive to join their team!

The role plays a fundamental part of the Commercial Function within the commercial marketing team in the On Trade. You will be responsible for initially owning Pricing & Promotional submissions for their customers and own brands, reviewing promotional effectiveness, liaising with suppliers to secure incremental promotions and deals, managing to agree targets and thresholds for promotions to ensure no oversell as well as ensuring all promotions are margin accretive and driving clear sales objectives.

You will be supporting the Senior Commercial Manager in reviewing the commercial proposition form their suppliers and working closely with the finance team to drive revenue and profits across the customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership and delivery of the annual promotion calendar and budget for the on the trade channel for brands
  • Tracking and reporting of promotional effectiveness on a bi monthly basis providing insight and recommendations for the next campaign
  • Improving promotional planning and process to drive efficiency
  • Co-ordination with digital team to ensure promotions are loaded and run off
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to ensure we are driving a profitable category and brand mix for the UK On Trade
  • Support the Commercial Manager on Category Rage Recommendations through data analysis & insight
  • Ownership of reporting against joint business plan performance in collaboration with the Finance Team

The Person

  • Must have drinks experience - Essential
  • The ability to work with ambiguous data and process and make recommendations to improve and drive efficiency
  • Demonstrable experience of data analysis and insight leading to clear business recommendations and actions
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and delivering promotional plans and calendars
  • Ability to deliver actionable insight
  • Understanding of the UK On Trade including Free Trade role within
  • Commercially aware and able to integrate company agenda into thinking
  • Significant experience and competency in Excel and Data analysis & Insight
  • Market knowledge and understanding to bring best in class market insight
  • Good communicator
  • Team player - able to work well with internal and external teams
