A leading food production company is currently seeking a dynamic and driven Category Executive to play a pivotal role in the category strategy. If you're passionate about food and thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role:

As a Category Executive, you will be at the forefront of our category initiatives, reporting to the Head of Category. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with our internal commercial team to identify growth opportunities through data-driven insights.
  • Utilise market, retail, consumer, and shopper data to contribute to the formulation of category plans.
  • Lead the development of specific sub-brands within the category, identifying areas for enhancement and future growth.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with a designated retail customer, positioning the company as the category experts.
  • Apply best practices in merchandising and category segmentation, driven by consumer and shopper insights.
  • Assist in range review and merchandising projects to optimise space and visibility, driving category and brand performance.
  • Establish the company as the trusted source of impartial expert opinion for the category among commercial, marketing, and merchandising personnel.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure Category Management initiatives are incorporated into individual account plans.
  • Act as a Category ambassador within account team meetings, fostering cross-functional relationships to advance category goals.
  • Contribute to internal presentations based on market data analysis, highlighting key trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Capture and share relevant activity within specified retailers.
  • Assist in ad hoc reporting as needed within the category team.

You:

  • Business-related degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Previous experience in a commercial role within the FMCG sector.
  • Familiarity with multiple retailers.
  • A strong desire to excel in a commercial environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive "can-do" mentality.
  • Collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills.
  • Passion for the industry and a keen interest in the commercial landscape.
