Join a dynamic team dedicated to achieving outstanding results in the Convenience Wholesale sector. As the Business Development Manager, your mission is to drive growth, retain key accounts, and innovate customer strategies to achieve set targets for volume, revenue, market share, and profit. You'll collaborate closely with the Head of Sales to support the broader Convenience Channel strategy, all while putting the customer first at the heart of everything you do.
- Lead all aspects of the Account Management process, including enhancing existing listings, securing new listings, managing new product launches, and optimizing promotional activities to maximise revenue and profit.
- Efficiently manage administrative procedures, such as forecasting, terms agreements, Joint Business Plans with customers, and internal price file and accrual maintenance.
- Develop and execute solid business plans to meet budgeted targets for volume, revenue, and profit.
- Contribute to the development of the Convenience channel strategy in collaboration with the Business Account Managers and Head of Sales.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of key product categories and employ this knowledge to drive sales growth through a data-driven category management approach.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, and Supply Chain to identify and capitalize on profitable opportunities.
- Proactively seek opportunities for self-improvement and continuous development.
- Prior experience in managing wholesale members, RDC's, cooperative societies, or specialised wholesalers is a plus.
- A degree or equivalent experience
- Background in FMCG with classical sales training and a strong grasp of account management fundamentals
- Preferred experience in Convenience, Wholesale, Cash & Carry, and Wholesale Foodservice channels
- Strong sales skills
- Expertise in category management
- Effective negotiation and influence skills, both internally and externally
- Awareness of current product and market trends
- Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office
- Strong numerical, analytical, and data interpretation skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Confident in presenting to a diverse audience
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to foster a team-oriented culture
