Brand Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of annual marketing strategy, marketing calendar and campaign development and ongoing monitoring versus set KPI's

  • Supporting the SBM in the execution of the strategy and working more broadly with Commercial team as required in strategic meetings / workshops defining the medium to long-terms brand strategy

  • Accountable for delivering brand campaigns and activities as per the annual marketing calendar

  • Create inspiring briefs for agencies and partners to ensure activities proposed are aligned to the objectives of the campaign and target audience (managing appropriate 3rd parties)

  • Ensure campaigns and activities are delivered to brief, on budget and on time. Managing the implementation from brief writing to agency briefing, to delivery, to post campaign review

  • Planning, researching, and creating compelling content, including for product launches, seasonal occasions, promotional material, blogs and social media posts

  • Manage the content on the website, working collaboratively with the website agency to manage content uploads. Supported by the Marketing executive.

  • Manage SEO and PPC activity. Continuing to drive traffic to website, keeping track of analytics and reporting on progress

  • Working with the marketing executive to ensure blog posts are written and uploaded on the website

  • Responsible for the organisation of photography shoots, with clear photography briefs and by working collaboratively with the food stylist and photographer to prepare for the day.

  • Work closely with the international brand manager to ensure global content needs are considered, for example on photography shoots and the website. Supporting on importer asset requirements

  • Accountable for PR strategy and execution. Manage the PR agency to ensure deliver consumer and trade news idea generation and create tactics to support brand campaigns

  • Management and monitoring social channels, including competitors. Creating the content strategy and content calendar to ensure driving engagement across all social media platforms to meet KPIs

  • Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of marketing communications and campaigns, including through social media analytic tools, and reporting back to the business on the agreed cadence (quarterly, half, and year-end reviews)

  • Managing internal communications, such as the monthly newsletter and assisting with internal and external events

  • Develop digital marketing strategy, support SBM and Head of Sales through development of online sales channels (Amazon) and continued development and exploration of digital marketing approaches i.e new social media platforms such as 'grocery last mile'

  • Develop our influencer strategy, working with SBM. Build relationships with influencers, chefs and partner brands, creating a network of partners who work with us to co-create content

  • Create monthly digital marketing and PR Press update for internal circulation

  • Working closely with the administration team to raise purchase orders and report on budgets including regular alignment with Finance team and monthly monitoring of budget phasing vs the plan

  • Responsible for working with the administration team, requesting and arranging samples to influencers and media partners as relevant

  • Support the Sales team through the production of sales and marketing literature or tools

  • Keep up to date with latest marketing and consumer trends and competitor activity

  • Responsible for personal development plan and objective setting and reviews for Marketing executive. Mentoring on the job to develop their marketing skillset.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • 2-3 years' experience as Assistant brand manager or Brand Manager

  • Previous experience of working in a customer-centric environment is important

  • Experience managing external agencies/ suppliers through campaigns and projects

  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders across the business at various levels of seniority

  • Strong organisational skills and a good level of numeracy

  • Excellent time management and planning skills are essential, able to meet multiple project deadlines with minimal supervision and demonstrate good attention to detail

  • Comfortable working on your own initiative to complete tasks, with an energetic 'can-do' approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills

  • Customer (trade and consumer) focussed

  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team

  • Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Power point)

  • A real foodie would be an advantage but not a specific requirement

  • Creative writing, editing and proofreading skills - ability to draft compelling copy, tailoring content for different audiences and channels
