17 Hours in the saddle wasn’t the plan, but that's ultimately how the Better Placed Cycle challenge panned out on the 6th September. The 127-mile towpath course, was never going to be easy, but what our riders had underestimated was how much the conditions would take their toll; rain, mud, closed towpaths, all complicated the day. The team dug deep though and the bright lights of Leeds were a welcome sight at 10:30 pm. There were some low points along the way, as you would expect, but it was fantastic to see the team really come together to help each other out during the day. Having raised over £2600 for the Alzheimer’s Society it made everything worth the effort and all for a cause very close to a number of the team’s hearts. These events take time to organise, train for and ultimately do but “putting something back” is the number one priority and something we will continue to do at Better Placed. Liverpool2Leeds was the fourth year on the bounce we have done such a challenge with past ones ranging from the 24hr Bike-a-thon, Triathlon and last year’s Yorkshire Three Peaks. Once again thanks for all the support and sponsorship, top effort team and we are already looking forward to the BPR challenge 2020!
