About the National Account Manager role:

Better Placed Recruitment are working alongside one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers who are looking for a dedicated National Account Manager to join their successful grocery commercial team in Yorkshire.

A key player in branded and own label food manufacturing, our client adopts a unique business strategy across numerous sites in the UK. Operating across a variety of different product categories, they offer high quality, tailor made solutions to retail and foodservice channels.

As a Grocery National Account Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and implementing JPB’s with customer to capitalise on sales growth
  • Full P&L for existing grocery account(s)
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Communicating effectively with other internal departments to deliver the overall business strategy (e.g marketing, category and insight)
  • First point of contact for customer attending regular face-to-face meetings
  • Identifying new opportunities and recommending actions to improve margin
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of competitive activity and market trends
  • Reporting directly into the Commercial Controller on a weekly/monthly basis

The ideal candidate:

  • Top 6 Grocery mults management experience is a real must
  • Own-label and branded exposure would beneficial however not essential
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions
  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills
  • Pro-active and ambitious attitude
  • Commutable to Yorkshire

A market leader within the industry, our client knows the best products and services to best fit it’s clients needs.

As a Sales Manager you will be responsible for achieving the sales target as agreed with the CEO. The Sales Manager will be a key member of the regional team (North+South) working closely with the operations director. With experience in a hybrid new business role you will be experienced in the selling process, consultatively making smarter decisions for the business and the client.

Required:

  • Ability to self generate appointments and respond to leads provided from the marketing activity
  • Liase with internal operations team to enlist the necessary support in preparing a commercial proposal e.g surveying, follow up etc
  • Prepare reports to the board showing inbound leads, tracking each through the sales funnel along with pipeline, forecasts and conversion ratios to scale

As a National Account Manager you will be a vital player in the sales team managing one of their top On-trade accounts. Our client operates both on the on and off trade channels on a National basis and is widely recognised for their dedication to quality and innovation.

Reporting directly into the Sales Director you will be responsible for:

  • Setting the strategy, plan + budget to deliver corporate objectives
  • Create a joint business plan with customers that deliver against volume, distribution and profit objectives
  • Identifying potential customers by research and targeting implementation of sustained prospect activities
  • Managing the execution of account/brand activities devised by sales + marketing teams
  • Development of existing customer base in specified segments and implementation of channel priorities
  • Building a network of customer contacts at all levels and activating a contact strategy
  • Create + keep line an annual account plan delivering corporate objectives
  • Agree and negotiate with the customer a joint business plan that delivers for both the internal and external business objectives
