Coming Up For Air

Wow! What an exciting, challenging and rewarding first five months of 2017 we have had at Better Placed HR People. Time to come up for air, take stock and in doing so I wanted to share with everyone the journey we have been on so far.

As many of my network know the first few months of 2017 was exciting and challenging! My wife and I had our daughter Martha in December so working through a business launch whilst helping our little one through the trials and tribulations of colic was fun! Anyone who is going through this I have two words for you “cranial osteopath” – for the baby, not the launch, but come to think of it the team and I could have done with this at points 😊

The team at Better Placed HR People is now a team of 6. We have specialist consultants covering Yorkshire, the North West and London and have placed some great HR talent into the Midlands market.

Our successes so far

We have helped over 30 people find their next job in their HR career and in doing so have helped over 30 of our client’s secure great talent for their teams. Thanks to all the businesses that have trusted us with their recruitment, we don’t take the responsibility lightly and thank you for your incredible support and trust over the past five months.

Thanks also to our candidates, we have met with literally hundreds of you now. We have had some great feedback from you particularly around our coaching sessions on personal brand and how to use social media in your job search.

We are so sorry to anyone who may have felt let down by us over the past 5 months, due to the huge amount of people that have wanted to engage with the brand, in the early days it was impossible to get back to everyone, even with a team of 6 we are finding this an ongoing challenge. Please bear with us, we have good hearts and are doing our very best. We are looking for more consultants and as the team grows the level of service we can provide you as a candidate can only increase.

Jade Goodman: Our commitment to our candidates

A massive welcome to Jade Goodman, the newest member of our team (linkedIn profile) We are serious about becoming known as providing an excellent candidate experience. Jade has joined the team to focus on our candidates, her sole focus will be on developing candidate relationships and building pools of great HR talent for our customers. Whilst all our consultants have a strong focus on building authentic face to face candidate relationships half their time is spent building relationships with businesses to ensure we have the best HR opportunities in the market.  Jade will be focusing 100% of her time on our candidates.

We are coming to The East Midlands

The second half of 2017 will be an exciting time for us. This will see us further developing our growing brand across Yorkshire from our Leeds office, the North West from our Manchester office and London from our office just off chancery lane and we are pleased to say we will also now be placing a focus on the East Midlands HR market, an area of the country I have over 10 years of experience within. Myself, Jade Goodman and Chloe Lawrence will be leading the charge and would be excited to speak to HR professionals across the East Midlands.

Mastermind – Inspiring Action

We are proud to announce the launch of Mastermind – Inspiring action. Mastermind – Inspiring action is a series of specialist HR working groups that are unique to Better Placed HR People and provide our candidates and clients with a mixture of brainstorming, thought leadership, education and peer to peer review to improve and sharpen your skills both on a business and personal level. Mastermind – Inspiring action differs from your usual networking event. Our mastermind groups are closed groups, membership is by invitation or through our application process. Each group is made up of between 5-10 members, critically all as the same level and in the same HR specialism. Each group requires commitment from its members to meet at regular intervals throughout the year, this way trust and confidence can be built between everyone.
