Better Placed is a relatively small, but growing business, as such our CSR policy is very much in evolution.
Our entire business is built on long-term mutually beneficial relationships which extend long past the short period of time we're working on any particular assignment. Relationships with the environment, our employees, our vendors and the outside world are all equally important to us.
We welcome suggestions and observations that can help us to maintain what we believe are the main pillars of socially responsible corporate behaviour laid out in principal below:
We are committed to ensuring that our business is carried out in such a way that we are only providing support and working with people, organisations and in countries who strive to observe the UN Declaration on Human Rights in particular the 'Universal respect for an observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without discrimination as to race, sex, language or religion.'
The confidentiality of information received in the course of our business will always be respected and never used irresponsibly. Every effort is made to ensure that false information will not be given in the course of any commercial negotiations. We commit fully to on-time payment terms with our suppliers and clear unambiguous contractual arrangements with our clients and to upholding the spirit as much as the letter of the law in all that we do.
We ensure that the environmental impact of our business is minimised in every possible manner. We have a solid commitment to recycling all office waste, we operate a near-paperless office policy and actively support transport options that reduce the carbon footprint of all our employees.
We actively support a variety of community based activities and charitable causes. In recent years the members of the Better Placed team has been involved in raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Children with Leukaemia having completed the Great North Run and the London Marathon; The Prostate Cancer Charity through 'Movember' as well as a recent involvement with a Belarusian children’s charity www.focc.org that supports recuperative visits for children still affected by the fallout from the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
We strongly support and actively pursue equality and diversity in all aspects of our business. We do not discriminate against employees, suppliers, affiliates, clients or candidates in term of gender, marital or civil partnership status, any gender reassignment, pregnancy, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, disability or age. We believe it is the duty of each individual and business working with us to uphold these values in every part of their dealings with us.
We are committed to offering equal opportunities to all employees in their recruitment, training and career development, having regard for their particular aptitudes and abilities. Full and fair consideration is given to applicants with disabilities and every effort is made to give employees who become disabled whilst employed by the firm an opportunity for retraining where necessary.
If you have reason to believe that anyone within Better Placed is not adhering to our policy please let us know immediately in order that we can take the appropriate action.
